Slew get's the jump on Phil

Good news from Snohomish Washington comes not a moment too soon for the snow bound, rain, wind, flood and "what's next?", battered residents of the Northwest.

Snohomish Slew,  the Meteorologist Frognosticator extraordinaire and mighty small hero to all the weather weary, announces his intention in 2009 to "Get the Jump" on Punxsutawney Phil!

This, January 31, 2009, frog-monumental event will take place at almost precisely 11:30 a.m., Ferguson Park, 1330 Ferguson Park Road, Snohomish, WA.

No more east coast predictions and forecasts bombarding the air waves even before the Northwest wakes up!  Slew's frognostication, of a hopefully short winter season in our corner of the nation, is revealed at the January 31, 2009, GroundFrog Day Ceremony.

Slew also predicts that soon after his proclamation is translated by his faithful scribes, the throngs of press and northwest media will broadcast our mighty green meteorologist prediction.  Will it be, 6 more weeks of soggy and wet or 6 more weeks of saturated, foggy and gray? The suspense always makes for ribbitting news!

Another Northwest legend, Tim Noah from the Thumbnail Theater will debut an original song he has written especially to celebrate GroundFrog Day.  Tim will lead the celebrating crowd from the entrance of Ferguson Park at 11:30 a.m. to the GroundFrog Frognostication stage.  Prior to Slews arrival, the GroundFrog royalty will arrive with more of our celebrity green hero's, OxyGene from Community Transit, Tad the Kla Ha Ya Day Mascot, TOP Food's, Splash the Otter and more GroundFrog friends, including J.D. the D.J. from Catch the Beat, who will entertain and keep the celebration hoppin!  Slew will again be riding is style as he arrives in his favorite mode of Transportation a NorthWest Sand and Gravel truck where he will feel right at home traveling with a load of their special "Organik Rock".

To further celebrate the fun and frogfolity of the great frognostication ritual all attending are invited to celebrate Slew's passion for "Bright Green" at the Be Bright Go Green, Community Frogorama a Live green work green ride green Expo. at the National Guard Armory from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Community booths will share Be Bright Go Green ideas and information for parents.  Kids can play hero too when they hop behind the whell of Community Transit's Double Tall bus and take it for a spin, take command of a Fire District 4 big red fire engine and pilot the Snohomish county Search and Rescue's Hovercraft.  Kids crafts and activities will be sponsored by Just Frog Toads Too and see a plethora of Kermit the Frogs on Display, just a tadpole size representation of the Guinness Book of Records largest "Frog Collection".
