Russon Nets three in SNO-GP Win

SNO-GP – Glacier Peak junior Miles Russon netted three goals as the combined Glacier Peak –Snohomish High School lacrosse squad earned its third win of the spring with a 12 – 4 win over Providence Classical Christian School at Glacier Peak High School in Snohomish County.

Goaltender Noah Palmaffy, a Glacier Peak senior, kept Snohomish in position to score its own goals as he stopped a persistent Providence squad making 13 saves of 16 shots on the night and defender Drew Hirschi had six ground balls in his first varsity start.

Sno-GP jumped out to a 2 – 0 lead in the first than added four in the second while allowing just one for a 6 – 1 lead at the half.

In the third, behind strong net-minding by Providence goaltender Jackson Morris, the Highlanders finally got their legs scoring a pair. But in the end were never able to match the strong Sno-GP start.
The game marked the first prep lacrosse contest for Providence, with an enrollment of just over 200, since 2012.

Alex Wartes had a pair of goals for the Highlanders in the loss.
