Kandace Harvey Klahaya Grand Marshall

Kandace Harvey has been chosen to be the Grand Marshall for the 2014 Klahaya Days Parade.

This Seafair sanctioned event has been around for more than 100 years and so has the Harvey family. In fact the Harvey’s may have 50 years or so over the Klahaya Days event by establishing their homestead in 1859.

How fitting to choose one of the communities oldest and most devoted families to represent the 100 year old event. Kandace Harvey’s long standing commitment to bettering the Snohomish community goes far beyond her volunteer work and financial support over the years to include; the Boys & Girls Club of Snohomish, the Snohomish Affordable Housing Group, the Snohomish Senior Center, Snohomish Education Foundation and Housing Hope.

Kandace has helped many individuals and small businesses realize their dreams through her support and guidance. Most people are unaware of her compassion and devotion to the community around her.

Kandace is a strong advocate for business, preservation of history and the small town spirit of giving back.
The Harvey family legacy of community involvement dates all the way back to their 1859 homestead in helping Snohomish to form its first governing body and later developing the airport in 1944. The regional airport continues to make the Snohomish area a thriving business center and recreational destination through the Harvey children’s involvement in various local businesses.

Harvey Field has hosted various Klahaya Days activities over the years and continues this year with airport tours, a volleyball tournament, annual summer carnival and airplane rides.

The Klahaya Days Event Committee could not have chosen a more deserving individual to honor as the Grand Marshall of the largest parade in the Pacific Northwest than Kandace Harvey.
