Pipe Bomb Found Outside Elementary

A pipe bomb was found outside Gold Bar Elementary after school today and has been picked up by the bomb squad.

Around 3:30 p.m. today, a town resident called 911 to report that he had found an object which looked like a pipe bomb lying in the grass outside of the school.

He then reportedly moved the object to his vehicle to protect the children in the area. Sheriff’s Office deputies confirmed that the object was indeed a pipe bomb.

The Interagency Bomb Squad, which is made up of personnel from the Sheriff’s Office, Washington State Patrol, and Everett Police Department, collected the device. The device will be “disrupted” at an undisclosed location and collected as evidence.

No suspects have been identified and no injuries have been reported.
