AMHS Partners with Taylor Hooton Foundation

Nationally, over two million middle school and high school students openly admit they have used anabolic steroids. Archbishop Murphy High School, along with the Taylor Hooton Foundation, is taking a lead role in educating families and students about the dangers of using performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs).

On November 3rd at 7pm, AMHS will open up its gym for this important and eye-opening message.
“We often focus on the use of PEDs in professional athletics,” said AMHS Athletic Director Erick Streelman, “but because high school sports have become so competitive and students are constantly under pressure to perform, nationally we have seen a drastic growth in the use of PEDs and supplements among our youth. Archbishop Murphy takes this issue very seriously.

We believe that every student is made in the image of God, and that it is important to spread the message that your worth is not measured by how you look or how you perform. We are taking an active role in spreading this message by supporting the Taylor Hooton foundation and giving their experts a forum.”

The event is free and open to the public.
