Death Investigation Following Arlington Fire

Detectives from the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit are conducting a death investigation in assistance to the Snohomish County Fire Marshall’s investigation of a structure fire that occurred over overnight. A neighbor first reported the fire around 9 p.m. on Monday at the 14200 block of Club Way. Witnesses calling 911 stated that they believed that two people were inside the mobile home.

Neighbors attempted to find a way to enter the building to rescue the occupants. However, the fire had overtaken the structure and it was too dangerous to make entry safely. When the fire was out, responders found two bodies. Confirmation of their identity is pending from the Medical Examiner’s Office as well as the cause and manner of death.

Major Crimes arrived around midnight to assess the scene and the Fire Marshall determined that the structure was unsafe to enter. They will return later today to continue with the death investigation. Recovery of the bodies may take several hours due to the unsafe conditions of the burned structure.
