75,000 in Classroom Grants

The Snohomish Education Foundation (SEF) awarded 111 classroom grants totaling nearly $75,000 for 2015. $69,000 of the funding was directly from SEF and $5,750 was privately funded. 84% of the applications received for classroom grants were awarded.

With the support of our community, families, businesses and community organizations these dollars were awarded to each school in our district (levels K-12) and will enhance the educational experience of all 9,800 students. Specifically, these grants will improve programs in literacy, science, technology, engineering and math.

SEF began funding classroom grants in 1995. Since that date, $532,000 has been awarded in classroom grants. SEF continues to encourage our entire community to be involved in ensuring that all of our students get the education that they deserve.

You are cordially invited to join us at our Annual Breakfast on May 19 at Glacier Peak High School at 7:30 am. See firsthand the impact your monies make on the lives and education of students in the Snohomish School District and “Imagine...The power of dreaming together.” You will be amazed and delighted as the students energize you with their passion for learning -- you won’t be disappointed! This annual event is attended and supported by over 300 people from the Snohomish community who open their wallets and hearts to the student of Snohomish year after year to make this community the great place that it is.

The Foundation extends a special thank you to their esteemed sponsors that contribute to the success of all of our programs: Saxton Bradley, Inc. (SBI), Mt. Pacific Bank, Wells Fargo, Sodexo, Boeing, Coastal Community Bank, Beresford, Heritage Bank, Kirtley Cole, Columbia Bank, Inn at Snohomish, Foster Pepper, Dykeman, Ideal Communication, Harvey Field, Comcast and McDaniel’s Do It Center.

As a community-based organization, we rely on donors and volunteers to help us carry out our mission of fostering learning by providing opportunities to students of the district.
