Snohomish County Sheriff action currently happening near Glacier Peak High School involves a fugitive from Maryland. According to a Sheriff’s deputy on the scene at the containment command center, the unnamed fugitive is wanted on robbery warrants out of Maryland.

During a local investigation into harassment involving a weapon the fugitives name came up. Upon further investigation, the Sheriff’s department was made aware of outstanding warrants from Maryland.

When deputies tried to make contact with the fugitive this afternoon about 4:30 pm, the fugitive ran.

Currently the Sheriff’s department has approximately 30 cars and a helicopter searching an area in and around the old Cathcart landfill.

Officers from as far away as Lakewood are assisting the Snohomish County Sheriff with the search.

The suspect is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Deputies are stopping any suspicious vehicles near the scene in an attempt to keep the fugitive from escaping.
