Sheriff’s Deputy and Four Others Injured

At about 11:45 this morning, a call came in to 911 that a Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office patrol car, two other vehicles and one pedestrian were involved in a serious collision at the intersection of 23rd Ave and Rockefeller. Aid transported four of the involved persons to Providence Regional Medical Center and the pedestrian, a 59 year-old male, to Harborview Regional Medical Center.

The patrol deputy is a 54 year-old male who has been with the agency for nine years. The three other victims involved were a 21 year-old male, a 44 year-old female and a 74 year-old male. Current status of all involved is unknown at this time.

The deputy’s patrol car and one passenger vehicle were directly involved in the collision, and a truck parked on the street was also struck.

The intersection was closed several hours for the investigation but is expected to re-open soon.

At the request of the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, the Washington State Patrol was asked to handle the investigation.

No updated information is expected tonight or through the weekend.
