College Rugby 15s National Championship

The D1A Rugby Final at the 2015 Rugby College 15s National Championships will be broadcast live on ESPN3 as part of a three-year deal with the ESPN family of networks. The National Championships are being held at Fifth Third Bank Stadium at Kennesaw State University on Saturday, May 9.

The broadcast will feature reigning National Champion Saint Mary’s College attempt to defend its title against top-ranked Life University on Saturday, May 9, at 4 p.m. ET. The third consecutive Final between the Gaels and Running Eagles can be viewed on WatchESPN.com. The Women’s Division II, Men’s Division 1AA, and Women’s Division I Finals will be streamed live on USA Rugby TV prior to the D1A Final.

“The student-athletes at the College 15s National Championships have been working all year for this moment, and we’re extremely excited to let them have the opportunity to showcase the best in collegiate rugby to the world,” USA Rugby Collegiate Director Rich Cortez said. “ESPN has the reach this event deserves and the ability to put on an unparalleled broadcast.

“We look forward to expanding our coverage of USA Rugby College National Championships on the ESPN platforms as we go forward.”

Saturday’s D1A Final will also be rebroadcast on ESPNU Monday, May 11, at 11 p.m. ET.

The Penn State Nittany Lions (Women’s DI) and University of Central Florida Knights (Men’s D1AA) can also hold onto their 2014 titles with wins against Central Washington and UC Davis, respectively. Notre Dame College and UC Riverside will kick off the day with the Women’s DII Final. Full previews of the games can be found at USARugby.org.

Tickets are on sale through Kennesaw State University’s online ticketing office, starting at $20. Group discounts are available when tickets are purchased in packages of 10 or more. Indoor suites with 16 tickets, four VIP parking passes, and access to food and beverage options, as well as outdoor corporate suites, can be reserved.

Additionally, ESPN 3 will air the knockout rounds of the 2015 USA Rugby College 7s National Championships at University of Denver Sunday, May 24. Further broadcast details will be announced at a later date.
