Bartell Drugs’ new Lynnwood store

Celebrating its milestone 125th anniversary, family-owned Bartell Drugs opens its 63rd store Friday, May 22 in Lynnwood, with a big line-up of festivities planned for Saturday, May 30 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Located at 2518 196th Street SW, it is the Seattle-based chain’s 15th location in Snohomish County.

With its distinctive clock tower, the 15,000-square-foot-store will spotlight a variety of “next generation” features, including a full service pharmacy offering a wide range of services; the tasteful “Beauty” cosmetics section; the “Urban Market” with regionally-produced products; Bartells’ unparalleled “Sweets & Snacks” section, and the creative Print Studio. For added convenience, the store has a drive-through window for pharmacy customers and ample parking surrounding the store.

Grand opening festivities scheduled for Saturday, May 30 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. include:

• A free hot dog “cookout” served up by volunteers from the Lynnwood Rotary, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (while supplies last)

• A performance by the “AMS Jazz Band” from Alderwood Middle School, noon to 12:30 p.m.

• From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., free or discounted health screening services for blood pressure, cholesterol, bone density and diabetes/glucose in the pharmacy area.

• A wide range of vendors offering free samples or special offers, including KIND Bar, Nuun, Seattle Chocolates and Bodyceuticals, plus “Spin the Wheel” opportunities for prizes.
• Free drawings for prizes, including two tickets to the Kenny Chesney concert June 27 at CenturyLink Field, dinner at the Space Needle and a $50 Bartell Drugs gift card.

• 94.1 KMPS on-the-air personalities broadcasting live from noon to 2 p.m.
A ceremonial ribbon-cutting is scheduled for Thursday, May 28 at 11 a.m. as customers, members of the Bartell family, employees, vendors and local dignitaries officially celebrate the store’s opening.
“The store is conveniently located in one of the region’s most vibrant retail areas, and we look forward to serving the health and wellness needs of local residents, employees in nearby retail centers, and shoppers visiting the area,” said Chairman George D. Bartell.
Store hours will be 8 a.m.—10 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m.--9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Pharmacy hours are 9 a.m.--9 p.m. Monday-Friday; 9 a.m.--6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m.--6 p.m. on Sunday.
