Deputy Involved Shooting in Snohomish

Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) Deputies responded to the 17500 block of Tester Road at approximately 12:30 AM for a suspicious incident.  The first arriving SCSO Deputy contacted a male in the area and moments later the Deputy advised of shots fired.  The male is deceased and the Deputy is uninjured.

The incident remains under investigation by the Snohomish County Multi-Agency Response Team (SMART), a team of detectives from various Snohomish County law enforcement agencies who respond to and investigate police use-of-force incidents in the county.

The 31 year-old Deputy started with SCSO in 2007 and has been placed on administrative leave. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office will take custody of the deceased to determine identity and the cause and manner of death. Detectives recovered a handgun at the scene and describe the male as white and in his 60’s. The incident remains under investigation by the Snohomish County Multi-Agency Response Team (SMART), a team of detectives from various Snohomish County law enforcement agencies who respond to and investigate police use-of-force incidents in the county.
