Marysville Police Make Arrest in Package Theft Case

Marysville Police received a tip from a citizen identifying the suspect in the theft of a package from the front porch of a Marysville residence that took place last week. Officers were able to arrest a 31 year old Lake Stevens woman for investigation of theft, possession of stolen property and felony narcotics possession.

The victim reported the theft of the package to police late Monday morning after reviewing his home security video and discovering the package had been removed from his porch on Monday, November 16th, by a blond-haired female driving a small white sport utility vehicle.

Q-13 Fox news aired the story yesterday evening including showing the security video which led to the citizen being able to identify the suspect. Late Monday night Everett Police Department officers notified Marysville they had detained the suspect in the Everett Mall parking lot while investigating their own package theft from earlier in the day.

A Marysville officer drove to Everett and arrested the suspect. She initially denied involvement in the Marysville theft but when advised her crime was on video she admitted to taking the package. She was eventually booked into the Snohomish County Jail. The suspect’s vehicle was impounded and is being held pending service of a search warrant.

“It’s truly unfortunate but the Christmas season brings about an increase in package thefts,” stated Commander Robb Lamoureux. “People definitely need to be wary of what valuables they are having delivered and left on their porch.”
