Robbery Suspects in Custody after Brief Standoff

MUKILTEO, Wash. – Two armed robbery suspects are in custody after a brief standoff earlier this morning. The incident began on 128th in Everett at around 1 a.m. when a women met with two men to buy drugs. The three met in a vehicle and the primary suspect, a 31 year-old Mukilteo man, allegedly pointed a gun at her and demanded he give him her purse. When the victim refused, he allegedly struck her in the head, stole her purse and fled with a second suspect.

The victim, who knew the Mukilteo suspect, went to suspect's house at the 9700 block of 58th Pl W, to get her money back. When the occupants of the home refused to answer the door, the victim called 911 to report the robbery around 2:15 a.m. Patrol arrived at the home and the suspect refused to leave the house.

Meanwhile, other patrol units located the second suspect in the robbery, a 25 year-old Mukilteo man, and his 29 year-old girlfriend. They were taken into custody.

After lengthy negotiations with the suspect's mother (who was inside the home with the suspect and his sister, the primary suspect gave himself up and came outside the home around 5:30 a.m. He was taken into custody without incident.

The robbery is being investigated by the Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit.
