The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) announced that Casey Johnson has been selected as the new Sports and Activities Information Director.

Effective Monday, August 8, Johnson will be the primary media contact for WIAA sports and activities and will manage the design and production of all WIAA publications.

Johnson comes to the WIAA from the University of Oregon, where he served as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications. Prior to that, he was a graduate assistant at Boise State University while earning a master’s degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in behavioral studies.

“We’re looking forward to Casey being on staff,” said WIAA Executive Director Mike Colbrese. “He brings a wealth of experience and understanding of school programs.”

A native of Washougal, Washington, Johnson received his undergraduate degree at Washington State University where he earned a BA in communication with an emphasis in public relations. While attending Washougal High School, Johnson was a member of the WIAA system as a three-sport athlete.
