Arrest made after fatal collision

EVERETT – A woman has been arrested on probable cause for vehicular homicide after a fatal collision in Everett.

At 9 pm tonight, officers responded to the report of a Jeep that drove into a house in the 3800 block of Grand Ave. Arriving officers found a man, in his 50’s, had been struck by the Jeep before it veered off the roadway. CPR was initiated and Everett Fire also responded but the man succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.

The driver of the Jeep, a woman in her 30’s, remained at the scene and was arrested for vehicular homicide. She will be booked into the Snohomish County Jail.

Traffic Safety detectives believe the man was covering his car before the snow started when he was struck by the northbound Jeep. A second vehicle was hit before the Jeep veered into a yard and stopped as it collided with a porch.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office took custody of the body and will determine cause and manner of death as well as identity.
