Roadwork to bring safety improvements

MILL CREEK – If your Father’s Day plans take you to the Mill Creek area, prepare for morning traffic delays on State Route 527/Bothell Everett Highway.

Washington Department of Transportation maintenance crews will restripe the northbound lanes of SR 527 between 15th Avenue Southeast and 173rd Street Southeast. Crews will shift the lanes to the left, which will provide a wider and safer shoulder for pedestrians and bicyclists.

The restriping work requires crews to close one lane of northbound SR 527 between 3 a.m. and noon. Crews will also keep the center lane closed during the working hours.

Closure details:
• 3 a.m. – Crews will begin setting up the work zone.
• 4 a.m. – The right northbound lane will close to traffic.
• 8 a.m. – The right lane will reopen, and the left northbound lane will close to traffic.
• Noon – All lanes will reopen to traffic.

Drivers using southbound SR 527 should also prepare for traffic delays due to slower-than-normal traveling speeds through the work zone.
