Shooting was related to a drug deal

This evening Marysville Detectives received a tip that two of the three individuals that are outstanding suspects in a June 1st 2017 early morning shooting that left a man fighting for his life were back in Marysville.

The June 1st shooting was related to a drug deal - robbery gone bad. Two other individuals, a 27-year-old Covington man and a 29-year-old Federal Way woman, were taken into custody on June 8th 2017 for their role in the robbery and assault. Those two individuals were booked into the Snohomish County Jail on two counts each of Assault 1st degree, and Robbery 1st degree.

That left three suspects outstanding: Jackie Hatch, Brooke Taylor, and Robert Dawson, all of whom have been featured on Washington’s Most Wanted. Marysville Detectives received a tip that Jackie Hatch and Brooke Taylor were in Marysville Thursday evening. Officers from the Marysville N.I.T.E. team set up surveillance and observed Hatch and Taylor get into a vehicle with two other unknown individuals. A traffic stop was made on that vehicle and Hatch and Taylor were taken into custody without incident. Both Hatch and Taylor were booked into the Snohomish County Jail on two counts of Assault 1st degree, and one count of Robbery 1st degree.

The male driver of that vehicle, (unrelated to the robbery and assault that Hatch and Taylor were wanted for), was arrested on a separate felony DOC warrant and booked into the Snohomish County Jail.

The fourth occupant of the vehicle was released.

Robert Dawson is still wanted for felon in possession of a firearm and Delivery of a controlled substance.

Investigation Update:
Marysville – June 9, 2017 10:19 AM

Marysville Detectives have made two arrests associated with the early morning shooting on June 1st that left one man with life threatening injuries.

The weeklong investigation led to the arrest of a 27-year-old Covington man and a 29-year-old Federal Way woman on Thursday June 8th. Both suspects were booked into the Snohomish County Jail late Thursday on two counts each of Assault 1st degree, and Robbery 1st degree.

“Although the investigation continues, these arrests mark a significant development in our investigation,” stated Cmdr. Mark Thomas, “we will continue to follow up on any leads as they develop.”

“This investigation was complicated by the number of individuals that needed to be interviewed and the fact that most of them are from out of the area,” said Cmdr. Mark Thomas.

The investigation revealed the shooting was related to a planned robbery of drugs and money from a suspected drug dealer in the Marysville area.

The victim of the shooting, a 39-year-old man from Kent, remains hospitalized at Harborview Hospital in Seattle, and as of this date has not been able to speak with detectives due to the nature of his injuries.
