Rotary Club of Mill Creek’s Gift

Everett, Wash – Sept 20, 2019 – When Peoria Home founder, Paula Newman-Skomski was asked to share the Peoria Home story with the Rotary Club of Mill Creek, she had no idea the impact it would have on this group of approximately 50 professionals. “Our goal was to educate and to spread the word of our new Snohomish County program”, shared Paula. When the group asked what the program needed help with, Paula mentioned the old detached garage that is a part of the Peoria Home residence and earmarked to be the space used for the organization’s future social enterprise, needed a new paint job, the club was thrilled to help and jumped right in!

After rotary members Mike Mallihan and Scott Tenhulzen, owner of Tenhulzen Painting and Construction Partners, assessed the project, it was apparent to them that this would require more than just a paint job….

Four months later, and with the amazing support from Tenhulzen Painting & Construction Partners, Dunn Lumber, members of the Everett Rotary and Seattle Rotary groups, Peoria Home has a beautiful newly renovated building with an office area and plenty of space to kick off the social enterprise. With all new siding, roof, electrical, insulation, doors, wallboard & paint - you would not believe it was once an old garage!

The Peoria Home staff, board of directors and residents are so very grateful to this group for this amazing gift and will be holding an official ribbon cutting reception on Tuesday, September 24th, from 6-7:30pm.
