The Glacier Peak Grizzlies from Snohomish found out that they have some room for improvement as today's game did not end the way they had hoped. Today's game at the Tacoma Dome was against the lakes Lancers and proved to be a lesson in ball control. Right from tip off the Lancers started the shock and awe campaign against the Grizzlies. The Grizzlies appeared to be a little nervous and disoriented at the beginning of the game but found their footing by the end of the first half, although they were down by 15 points. Those 15 points came back to haunt the Grizzlies at the end of the game, five points from the first quarter and 10 from the second. By the end of the third quarter they were down virtually the same at 16 points and at the buzzer they found themselves only able to make up three points difference ending the game down by 13. Final score was lakes Lancers 74 and Glacier Peak grizzlies 61. The good news is that the grizzlies were able to stop the bleeding and were able to match the Lancers point for point in the second half. Some may say 'how is that good news', but let's remember that this is a second year team and for them to hold their own against the Lancers is a job well done. There is absolutely no doubt that from what we have seen from the Glacier Peak Grizzlies in football and now in basketball, they are new force to be dealt with on many different levels. A photo gallery and scoring statistics will be updated to this article in the next few hours, the boys games are running about 45 minutes behind and photo editing is yet to be done.
