Prestigious Stevie Awards and Dream Dinners

by Lia Bigano
Dream Dinners, the country’s leading meal assembly service, has been named as a finalist in the prestigious Stevie Awards for Women in Business. Now in its seventh year, the Stevie Awards for Women in Business is a global awards program that honors women executives and entrepreneurs, as well as the companies they run.

Dream Dinners has been named one of nine finalists in the Best Overall Business up to 100 Employees category for its service business category, with winners to be announced at a New York City awards ceremony on Nov. 11. Dream Dinners was co-founded in 2002 by Snohomish residents and self proclaimed “soccer moms” Stephanie Allen and Tina Kuna, who parlayed popular fix-and-freeze dinner parties held in their homes into an entirely new business category. Meal assemble stores are now a $170M dollar industry, and Dream Dinners itself has more than 100 stores nationwide. The company is still headquartered in Snohomish, Wash., though it has recently moved to a new office location at 610 First St.

“Tina and I started Dream Dinners as a way to help our family and friends easily prepare meals and get their families back around the dinner table for quality time,” said Allen, who serves as Dream Dinners’ President, while Kuna serves as its Chief Financial Officer. “Now, almost 10 years later, we continue to gain headway in making the dinner routine easy for everyone, and are proud our leadership has earned the company a finalist spot for the Stevie Awards.”

Among other recent accomplishments by Dream Dinners, Allen and Kuna also co-authored a new book,  The Hour That Matters Most, which hit #1 on the New York Times Best Seller booklist in September. The book is aimed at continuing Dream Dinners’ mission to spark a revolution among American families to go back to the dinner table and reconnect, an art that has declined in today’s fast-paced world.

To celebrate the successful book and new office space, Dream Dinners will hold on open house at their new corporate headquarters on November 18, from 5 to 7 p.m. The event is open to the community and will include book signing opportunities with Allen and Kuna, office tours, Dream Dinners meal tastings and more.  To RSVP, email dreamdinners@duopr.com.

The pioneer of the meal assembly industry, Dream Dinners prides itself on providing affordable, healthful meal options for busy families and individuals. The service works by providing a monthly selection of recipes, which guests choose among and then prepare all at once. All ingredients are gathered and pre-prepped by Dream Dinners, so guests simply assemble the meals for the month in about an hour and take them home to freeze, and Dream Dinners does all the clean up too.
