Another new deputy intro to Snohomish

New Sheriffs deputies serving as police officers that are serving the community as a result of fired former Snohomish officers and the City’s contract for law enforcement with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

Sgt. Dave Heitzman was born in Seattle in 1961. He graduated from Cascade High School (Everett) in 1979. He has an AAS from Shoreline Community College and a BA in Law and Justice from Central Washington University.

Sgt. Heitzman started his career with the Seattle Police Department in 1982. He worked Patrol, K9, and Special Patrol while in Seattle. In 1993, Sgt. Heitzman was hired as a lateral by the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO).

Since working for the SCSO, Sgt. Heitzman has worked Patrol and Investigations. His investigative assignments have included Property Crimes, Crimes Against Children, and Major Crimes. During his last five years in the Major Crimes Unit, Sgt. Heitzman was a member of the Cold Case Team. He has collateral duties as a member of the SCSO SWAT Team.

Sgt. Heitzman was promoted to the rank of Sgt. In April of 2009 and supervised a Patrol Crew at the South Precinct.

Sgt. Heitzman is excited to be part of the team in the City of Snohomish. He is very impressed with the caliber of the new officers at the Snohomish Police Department and is confident the Police Department will succeed in meeting the challenges ahead.
