Snohomish Motorcycle Show
After a two-year wait and the Sky Valley Antique and Classic Motorcycle Show moved back to where it all began on Sunday. There were bands, contests, voting for the People's Choice Best in Show and a lot more. As predicted by the new Sheriff Police Chief and show organizer there wasn’t any trouble. A rumor early last week was circulated that mischief could be afoot if gangs showed up. No such thing occurred and even if it had the new sheriff chief had things well in hand. This was the first time in four years that the show has been held in Snohomish. It was moved to Sultan, then to Everett after a dispute over security costs. There wasn't a motorcycle show held in 2011. First Street was closed between Avenue D and Cedar for the show, as was Avenues C, B and A between First and Second streets, Glen Avenue between Second and Union and Union between First and Glen. A fairly large footprint that was meant to accommodate the thousands of people had been expected. The show brings together those who love motorcycles, history buffs and collectors to the city to spend their money in the downtown business district. It's was also a chance to learn about motorcycle safety and how to ride. There weren’t the 10,000 people that the show was expecting but it was very thrilling anyway.
