Monroe's next big thing

Having trouble knowing what to do this weekend? You may want to think about attending the first annual Prison Break off road challenge at the Monroe Adventure Park!

This is a one-of-a-kind off road event at the new multi-use Monroe Adventure Park.

In cooperation with the City of Monroe and a nod from Snohomish County the first ever mega-palooza off road challenge will commence tomorrow. Gates open at 11am for campers to get set up for the weekend, price is only $25.

Tickets range from $13 for military and seniors, $15 for the general public and children under 10 are free. Tickets are good for the entire 3 day two night event.

Competition starts Saturday at 9am and includes Sand Drags, Mud Race, Mud Bogs, Obstacle Course, Hill Climb and of course the Rock Crawl. Each event is scored and trophies are awarded.

Organizers hope that the event will prove to be a success and provide jobs and a boost to the local economy for years to come. Hundreds of people have been involved in the planning and execution of this project.

The Parks owners say they want to be a good neighbor and a responsible land steward. They have taken every precaution to protect the environment and the safety of the competitors. A safety plan has been evaluated and approved by the Fire Department as well as inspection by the County Health Department.

Marketing coordinator Todd Elvig said they have gone to great lengths to cover all their bases but just in case there is a rock solid safety system in place. We are looking to provide a quality event and bring people from all over the Northwest to Monroe to compete Todd said. Its important that we do this right so that we can gain the attention this area needs to help boost the economy he said.

The website is MonroeAdventurePark.com and address is 18061 177th, Monroe WA 98272.

This is touted to be the biggest event of this type in the State and any event in Monroe, next to the Evergreen State Fair.

SEE YOU THERE!
