Over 650 Meals to Local Food Banks

Christmas and the spirit of the holidays are centered on giving to help others. Secured Investment Corp and members of its family of companies including Cogo Capital and Lake City Servicing collected over 1,600 pounds of non-perishable food items. Some 1,400 pounds of food was collected at Secured Investment Corp’s corporate headquarters in Coeur d’Alene. Another 200 pounds was collected at the Spokane Cogo Capital – The Private Money Company’s location.

The food donations were made by the employees of Secured Investment Corp, Cogo Capital (Spokane & Coeur d’Alene offices) and Lake City Servicing. The items collected at the Coeur d’Alene office where donated to the Community Action Partnership and the items gathered at the Spokane office were provided to 2nd Harvest of Spokane.

Doug DeWolf with the Coeur d’Alene Community Action Partnership shared, “Secured Investment Corp and their team really came through. The donations picked up from their Cd’A location weighted in at 1443 pounds! This amount of food will provide between 600-650 meals in our community. We are truly grateful to them for their support of those in our community.”

The food drive was orchestrated by Laurie Jaeger, Secured Investment Corp’s Director of Human Resources. She attributes the competitive nature of the company’s departments who worked to best each other in collecting the most donations. Mrs. Jaeger commented, “I cannot begin to express my gratitude to all who contributed. Sharing is one of the biggest gifts you can give to others, while still keeping it as a gift to yourself. It is the gift of charity and service to others, especially those less fortunate, which will be rewarded in eternity.”
Travis Wandell Spokane branch manager of Cogo Capital – The Private Money Company led his team in collecting donations for 2nd Harvest of Spokane. He said, “We wanted to help members of our community by aiding those in need this holiday season. We hope that it takes the stress away from a few local families about worrying where their next meal is going to come from.”
Lee Arnold, Secured Investment Corp’s CEO, was very pleased with those who gave to help others. He commented, “We are blessed when we help others. I am very pleased with all those in our company who brought in food to help those in need in our community.” He continues, “I was thrilled to see the mountain of food that was collected. We all felt the true spirit of Christmas as we helped Doug load his van to deliver the food to the local food bank.”

This is another example of the great companies who call the Inland Northwest their home and how they help their communities.
