Everett Fire Department crews responded to a reported dining room fire at 7:23 p.m.

Arriving crews found flames and smoke coming from the front of the house and the resident safely outside.

Crews knocked down the main body of the fire quickly, and then extinguished hotspots in the interior, and also in the attic.

There were no injuries, but four cats were deceased in the fire. The Red Cross has been called to provide aid to the resident.

A crew will remain on scene thru the night to ensure all hot spots are extinguished.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but is not thought to be suspicious.
