Suspect in Custody Following Pursuit

A 26 year-old Lynnwood man was taken into custody following a pursuit that started in Lynwood and ended in Everett.

The incident began near the 15500 block of 18th Ave W earlier this morning when a Sheriff’s Office lieutenant observed the male texting on his cell phone while driving.

The lieutenant signaled for the driver to pull over, but the driver continued onto Ash Way, running several stop signs along the way. The driver was pursued to Casino Rd where a spike strip was deployed.

The driver abandoned his vehicle at the 8200 block of Upper Ridge Rd and fled on foot. He was taken into custody and will be booked into jail for felony eluding and an outstanding warrant out of Skagit County.

No injuries or damage were reported, except to the tires of the vehicle.

The Snohomish County Auto Theft Task Force is conducting an investigation, as the vehicle the suspect was driving was reported as stolen to Seattle Police.
