Suspect Arrested Following Armed Robbery

Marysville officers, with the assistance of Tulalip Police and Mill Creek Police, have arrested a 32 year old Everett man following an armed robbery this morning.

At approximately 7:45 a.m. this morning, two males, aged 24 and 28 were robbed at gunpoint of money they had recently won at the Quil Ceda Casino, located on the Tulalip Reservation.

Both victims, who had won about $5,000 between them, left the casino to get food at a nearby McDonalds. They had mentioned to some people they had been interacting with at the casino where they were headed. The victims thought it strange and felt uneasy when they noticed one of the males they had spoken to started to follow them. They ended up driving into Marysville to a nearby Jack-In-The-Box, located in the 1100 block of 4th St.

When they arrived at the Jack-In-The-Box the suspect, who was one of the people the victims had been interacting with at the casino and also the individual that had started following them when they left to get food, showed up at the Jack-In-The-Box and began talking with them. The suspect ended up getting in the victims vehicle and the three men proceeded through the drive-thru to get food. They then parked in the restaurant parking lot to eat.

At some point the suspect pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the head of the driver of the vehicle, threatening to shoot him, and demanded his money. At the same time he told the passenger not to move or he would shoot his friend. The driver gave him his money. The suspect them turned his attention to the passenger and demanded his money which was handed over. The suspect then fled, getting into his vehicle and leaving the area.

At the time, Marysville officers were unable to locate the suspect vehicle.

A Tulalip Police officer was able to obtain a still photo of the suspect from surveillance video obtained at the casino.

A suspect and vehicle description was sent out to other police agencies throughout Snohomish County. Shortly after 10:00 a.m. Mill Creek Police officers located the suspect and vehicle in a parking lot of a local business. The suspect was taken into custody after a short foot chase that occurred following the officers attempts to contact the suspect.

The victims were driven by police to the location of the in-custody suspect in Mill Creek where they were able to positively identify him as the robber.

At the time of his arrest, the suspect was in possession of a large amount of cash. His vehicle was impounded for further collection of evidence.

Anyone who has information regarding this crime is asked to contact Marysville Police Detectives at 360.363.8350.
