Search for Felon Suspended, Maryland Fugitive Remains At Large

CLEARVIEW, Wash. – The search for a 27 year-old Maryland man, Jerry Stagg, yesterday in the area near the Cathcart Operations Facility and Glacier Peak High School was suspended around midnight last night. Stagg, who has felony warrants out of Maryland for 1st degree robbery and 2nd degree assault, remains at large.

Sheriff’s Office deputies were looking to arrest Stagg on a local felony harassment case when they learned of his other outstanding warrants. The Snohomish County Violent Offenders Task Force located Stagg at a residence in the Clearview area around 4:30 p.m. yesterday, but he escaped on foot into the wooded area nearby.

The search, which lasted several hours, included units from the Mill Creek Police and Snohomish Police Departments, as well as one of the Sheriff’s Office helicopters. A ladder truck from Fire District 7 was also involved in the search.

It is unknown what connection Stagg has to the Snohomish County area.

Anyone who knows of Stagg’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately.

UPDATE: Jerry Stagg, the focus of last night's large scale search in the Cathcart area, was just arrested without incident.
