Sheriff’s Office Recovers Swimmer’s Body from Snohomish River

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a missing swimmer near Thomas Eddy on the Snohomish River at about 4 pm today. A 21 year old man from Kenmore was recovered in about 20 feet of water, after being submerged for over thirty minutes, and could not be revived by medics from Snohomish Fire.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the exact cause and manner of death and release any further details on the identity of the man.

As temperatures rise, it is imperative that people remember that river and lake temperatures are still cold, and that rivers have unpredictable currents and sudden changes in depth.

Please be careful whenever playing in or around water.

There are no further details available at this time.
