Arlington Domestic Violence Assault

At about 5:06 pm Saturday, Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 23600 block of SR 9 to a report from a 61 year old Arlington woman who said she had been shot by her 63 year old husband also from Arlington. She was transported to providence hospital for treatment where she is currently listed in stable condition.

The male went back into their residence. The Everett/SCSO regional SWAT team responded to the location. The SWAT team negotiators are in contact with the subject and are attempting to get him to surrender. Updates will be provided at a later time.

SWAT negotiators spoke to the 63 year old Arlington man for several hours in an attempt to get him to come out of the house and surrender.

On or about 11:30 pm the male subject ended the telephone conversation and a single bang was heard coming from the interior of the residence. SWAT was able to confirm thru the use of the robot that the male had self-inflicted a fatal single shot wound and was dead on scene.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit began processing the scene soon thereafter.
