30 YEARS OF SERVICE TO EDUCATION

2016 marks the 30th year for Snohomish Education Foundation in supporting the students and programs of the Snohomish School District. SEF was formed in 1986 by Marian Berge and Mal Harding, with thanks to a dedicated board and community. Success of the organization is credited to the commitment of volunteers, teachers, school administration and service organizations along with the outstanding efforts of a supportive community and board trustees who are passionate about the Foundation. A great deal of gratitude is due to all who have been committed and passionate in persevering to support the students of the Snohomish School District. The generous donations from motivated community members, sponsors, current and previous trustees and scholarship donors are what give life to this non-profit organization.

This year will be a continuation of celebrations which have already begun. The Hansen Shoe Fund campaign raises enough each year for 200 pair of new shoes for children in our district that are in need providing both warmth and self-esteem. Since 1986, $600,000 has been given in the form of 1,051 class room grants to programs in the Snohomish School District. Over $1,500,000 has been administered to over 1,900 graduating seniors with college tuition. $338,000 has been funded to district-wide programs that will help students through the district for many years to come with programs and equipment. On May 24, the SEF Annual Fundraising Breakfast to help fund programs like these will be held at Glacier Peak High School where the community is invited to attend and learn more about the programs that SEF supports. Visit class room grant exhibits, a display of student artwork and special presentations from teachers and students. You won’t want to miss this! The breakfast will be held promptly between 7:30-8:30 am with doors opening at 7:00 am at Glacier Peak High School.

Visit our website www.snoed.org for more information and programs such as the KlaHaYa Beats Run this summer where SEF will celebrate by a family fun run on July 16. October 1, 2016, is the date of the largest fundraising event for SEF. The Annual SEF Auction will be held at Tulalip Resort Casino with silent and live auction and gourmet dinner. Over 300 people attended this event in 2015 and helped in raising over $200,000.00 for programs like classroom grants and scholarships. The Foundation sincerely thanks our growing list of Annual Supporters for the key role they play in Supporting Student Success. Annual Sponsors: SBI, Boeing, Mt. Pacific Bank, Corstone Contractors, Coastal Community Bank, Heritage Bank, Kirtley Cole, Beresford, Chartwell’s, Skydive Snohomish, Comcast, Foster Pepper, Moss Adams, Ideal Communications, and McKinstry.

Snohomish Education Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to supporting student success. As a community-based organization, we rely on donors and volunteers to help us carry out our mission of fostering learning by providing opportunity to students of the Snohomish School District.
