Girls Attacked in Snohomish

Police are searching for an adult man in connection to an assault that occurred Sunday night in Snohomish. 

The incident happened around 5:30 p.m. Sunday along the trail, which runs from Maple Avenue to Avenue D through a residential area in Snohomish.

Four girls ranging in age from 8 to 12 were walking along the Interurban Trail when the suspect approached them, touched one of the girls, and then fled on foot.

The attack happened in the vicinity of Avenue A, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff.

The four girls and a witness - a 46-year-old woman, described the suspect as a white man standing 6 feet tall, weighing 170 to 180 pounds, and with dark brown hair.

He was wearing a dark red T-Shirt, black basketball shorts, and a black backpack at the time of the assault, police said.
