SNOHOMISH, Wash. – The Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce that Lt. Keith Rogers has been selected as the new Snohomish Chief of Police. He was sworn in as lieutenant this afternoon by Sheriff Ty Trenary and will be publicly sworn in as police chief on Tuesday, September19 at the Snohomish City Council meeting. Lt. Rogers replaces Lt. John Flood who was recently promoted to Captain.

“I am very excited to take on this new role as the Chief of Police in Snohomish,” said Lt. Rogers. “I am looking forward to working closely with the residents of Snohomish and building an even stronger sense of community policing.”

Lt. Rogers was also presented with a Medal of Merit from the National Sheriff’s Association today for his leadership of the Snohomish County Violent Offender Task Force (SCVOTF). This multi-jurisdictional unit is made up of law enforcement personnel from the U.S. Marshals Service, Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, and Department of Corrections. The SCVOTF is responsible for tracking down the most serious offenders in our communities. Under the leadership of Lt. Rogers, the SCVOTF captured over 1,000 offenders and violent felons.

Lt. Rogers started his law enforcement career with the Mountlake Terrace Police Department in 1991 where he served as a Field Training Officer, Motorcycle Traffic Officer, and as a member of the South County Regional Riot Team. In 2002, Lt. Rogers joined the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. He has worked as a Patrol Deputy, Field Trainer, Master Patrol Deputy, and Patrol Sergeant. He has also served as a sergeant in Stanwood and Darrington, two of the cities that contract with the Sheriff’s Office for law enforcement services.
