Master Gardeners Offer Free Vegetable Gardening Online Classes

“Growing a Vegetable Garden in a Pot” is one of six informative and concise vegetable gardening classes being offered online free by WSU - Snohomish County Extension Master Gardeners this June.

“Interest in vegetable gardening has skyrocketed this year,” said Master Gardener Volunteer Jackie Trimble. “But we are seeing a lot of mistakes by novice gardeners and want to help them be successful. So, this series is focused on giving new gardeners the basics although experienced gardeners will probably learn something, too.”

Trimble, who is the Educational Outreach Coordinator, said the line-up includes: “Grow Your Own Salad Greens,” “Growing Vegetable Basics,” “Western Washington Vegetable Gardeners’ Calendar,” “Growing Vegetables in Raised Beds,” and “Growing Heat Loving Vegetables in the Chilly Northwest.”

Each Zoom online class lasts no more than 45 minutes including plenty of time for questions. They will start promptly at 7 p.m. and will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings starting June 2 and ending on June 18.

Advance registration is required for these free classes, which will be recorded, so that those who register but are not able to attend should be able to watch them later.
