Glacier Peak Grizzlies Unbelievable Double Overtime Finish

Our pregame prediction of a very good playoff game was true as the Glacier Peak Grizzlies from Snohomish took the Peninsula Seahawks all the way into double overtime.

Optimism for the Glacier Peak Grizzlies shrank to an all-time low in the first quarter of play. The Peninsula Seahawks scored on their very first drive on an 80 yard pass for a touchdown. The Seahawks were able to stop the Grizzlies and then able to score again in their second series with an (Creamer) 86 yard run for a touchdown. The score at this point was 14-0 with 10 minutes and 31 seconds left to play in the first quarter.

Quarterback Zach Richter was able to connect with Tanner Southard for a 3 yard touchdown pass making the score Seahawks 14 and the Grizzlies 7 with about 4 minutes 21 seconds left in the first quarter.

The Peninsula Seahawks started the second quarter deep in their own territory on the 23 yard line but were unable to convert. Glacier Peak got the ball back but was also stopped and forced try a field goal. The Seahawks blocked the kick and picked it up and ran it back for a (Grant) 85 yard touchdown run.

The Glacier Peak Grizzlies countered with a Zach Richter 34 yard pass to Tanner Southard for a touchdown but there extra point was blocked. Score now Peninsula 21 Grizzlies 13. On the very next Drive, Peninsula ran in a (Creamer) 49 yard touchdown making it 28-13, where it remained going in to halftime.

The Peninsula Seahawks came out strong in the third quarter with a 96 yard drive finished with a (Creamer) 5 yard touchdown run, bringing their score to a whopping 35-13 over the Grizzlies.

This is where Coach Rory Rosenbach said enough is enough, and started playing Glacier Peak football with a purpose.

The Grizzlies scored with an 11 yard pass to Tommy Rollins with a two-point conversion (Richter to Bonner) to give them 21, minutes later Zach Richter through a touchdown pass to Tanner Southard bringing their score to 28.

Clearly in a zone, Coach Rosenbach calls another series of plays that once again took the Grizzlies across the chalk, (Richter to Stepanchenko) tying the score at 35 all, with four minutes to play.

Peninsula returns the ball to the 49 yard line and then fumbles it with Glacier Peak recovering. Glacier Peak tried a couple of plays but the time ran out and forced the game to go into overtime.

Hats-off to the Grizzlies defense who held the Seahawks scoreless in the fourth quarter.

The Peninsula Seahawks got the ball first and scored first in OT1 (Creamer 2 yard run). Right on their heels were the Glacier Peak Grizzlies who also scored, a reception by Tanner Southard, an 8 yard pass from Richter sending the game into yet another overtime. Score 42-42.

The Glacier Peak Grizzlies got the ball first and scored first in OT2 on a 1 yard run from Stepanchenko, but again the Peninsula Seahawks came back and scored with a 1 yard run from Creamer. This is where things got interesting! Rather than risking further play, the Peninsula Seahawks decided to go for a two point conversion to win the game. This did not happen, this time the Grizzlies defensive line stopped Creamer BUTT COLD on the two yard line for the win.

Glacier Peak Grizzlies won on the road in Gig Harbor against the Peninsula Seahawks with a final score of 49-48.

Material girl Michelle Obama is a modern-day Marie Antoinette

Material girl Michelle Obama is a modern-day Marie Antoinette on a glitzy Spanish vacation.
Sacrifice is something that many Americans are becoming all too familiar with during this economic downturn. It was a key theme in President Obama's inaugural address to the nation, and he's referenced it numerous times when lecturing the country on how to get back on its feet.

But while most of the country is pinching pennies and downsizing summer sojourns - or forgoing them altogether - the Obamas don't seem to be heeding their own advice. While many of us are struggling, the First Lady is spending the next few days in a five-star hotel on the chic Costa del Sol in southern Spain with 40 of her "closest friends."
