Washington spending has gotten out-of-control. You have heard this before. But, nothing - nothing - compares to what is happening now. Americans are waking up to it. The latest poll numbers from Gallup and Quinnipiac tracking polls show Obama and Pelosis numbers are at an all-time low. Barack Obamas job approval is at 47% according to Gallup; 46% approve and 44% disapprove according to Quinnipiac. New poll numbers show that only 38% support the liberals health care bill, while 52% disapprove - what we have been saying all along. Source: The Kansas Progress ACORN calls itself a community group, but it is really a multi-million-dollar, multi-national conglomerate. Its political agenda is driven by a relative handful of political thugs for hire. ACORN spends millions promoting economic policies (like raising the minimum wage), but doesn't always want to abide by them. In fact, ACORN sued the state of California to get out of paying its own employees the minimum wage, and even fought their efforts to create a union. Before subprime became a household word, ACORN waded into the mortgage market, supporting policies that helped lay the groundwork for the catastrophic lending collapse of 2008. Working with another activist group, the Center for Responsible Lending, ACORN lobbied legislators and banks to ensure that any person, regardless of credit history, income, or assets, would qualify for a mortgage. They mastered the art of pressuring banks often through radical and controversial methods to provide subprime loans to all comers. It was many of these 'toxic' loans that defaulted and sparked the subprime mortgage crisis. ACORN's influence extends to the political sphere as well. The group is perhaps best known for its widely-reported role in voter fraud across the country. During the last two election cycles, it was under investigation for election fraud and related offenses in nearly 20 states. Source: Employment Policies Institute As much as $9.5 million in federal stimulus dollars went to 14 zip codes in Virginia that dont exist or are in other states, Old Dominion Watchdog (http://virginia.watchdog.org) reports. The fake zip codes were listed on Recovery.gov, the federal Web site that is supposed to track how the stimulus money is being used. The phony zip codes are a new wrinkle in Recovery.govs increasingly tattered credibility. In November, Ed Pound, director of communications for the Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board, said a rash of phantom congressional districts found on the website were the result of confusion by fund recipients, who apparently didnt know who their congressman was.
