Liquor, Beer, Wine Tasting Big Business
Published:2011-07-03 Business
Liquor, Beer, Wine Tasting Big Business Liquor, beer and wine are fast becoming the number one reason to make Snohomish a favorite stop for the day or for only a few hours. Snohomish has many fine restaurants and taverns but it is now a great place to do some beer, wine and liquor tasting. In fact it is hard to keep track of who is jumping in to the tasting business from one day to the next. The Chamber of Commerce has an annual wine tasting event and soon to be open on Second Street, a wine tasting mega-palooza. Scott Sabota has dedicated an entire building where wineries can set up booths to showcase their wines all year around. The Historic Downtown Snohomish Business Association is holding a wine tasting stroll featuring six local wineries on the second Saturday all summer long, each located in a different business. Many businesses will be staying open later to capitalize on the increased traffic from the tasting public. Would it surprise you to know that Snohomish has its very own Vodka distillery? One new company that is Off the Hook when it comes to their popularity and the explosion of its locally distilled product is Skip Rock Distillery. Skip Rock Distillers located at 104 Ave C produces very unique vodka distilled from a potato mash instead of the typical sorghum, corn, rye or wheat. Skip Rock Vodka is clean and earthy and a great example of a potato vodka. One reason is it starts with locally harvested ingredients from Washington and then adds some Snohomish magic to create this fine vodka. Good quality vodkas are distinguishable by its finish. Good premium brand vodkas are smooth tasting and possess quality textures while badly produced vodkas tend to burn your mouth and throat. Vodka is the best mixing liquor of all of the base spirits as it has no distinct color, taste or aroma and is therefore essential to every bar. With a bottle of vodka and a few additional ingredients one can make a variety of cocktails. Don Brown wrote; I came in not knowing what to expect, I was like cool a distillery in one of my favorite places in the NW Snohomish! I was openly welcomed by Ryan Hembree, he insisted I try two of their vodkas. I was not disappointed; keep up the good work guys! Skip Rock Distillery has a website under construction but you can find out all you need to know from their facebook page. Come out to our tasting room in Snohomish and taste our products. We have rich and creamy potato vodka for tasting and available for sale. Hats are coming! Skip Rock swag can ship pretty easily! Skip Rock Distillery.
