Four Suspects Arrested

EVERETT, WA – In the early morning hours of May 9, 2023, dispatch received several 911 calls reporting multiple subjects breaking into vehicles inside Everpark parking garage, 2815 Hoyt Ave. A witness reported the subjects were leaving in a vehicle and provided a description of the vehicle. Officers located the vehicle, and a traffic stop was conducted. Four subjects were contacted inside the vehicle. The witnesses stated the four subjects inside the vehicle were the same subjects they observed breaking into the vehicles in the parking garage. Officers were unable to contact a responsible party for the parking garage, therefore they were not able to gain access to identify the vehicles, assess damage and contact the vehicle owners. The subjects were released pending additional investigation.

During the daytime hours, officers were able to continue the investigation and found eleven vehicles had been prowled and damaged, the estimated amount of damage exceeding $5,000. Officers also discovered a metal garage door had been damaged to allow the subjects to get inside. Probable cause was developed to charge the four subjects who were contacted in the vehicle, one of which was a minor, with Burglary in the 2nd Degree, Malicious Mischief in the 1st degree and Vehicle Prowl in the 2nd degree.

After an extensive search and cooperative efforts by Everett Police Detectives, Patrol Officers, the Anti-Crime Team (ACT) and community members, all 4 suspects have been taken into custody. Three of the suspects were booked into the Snohomish County Jail for Malicious Mischief 1st degree, Burglary 2nd degree and 11 counts of Vehicle Prowling 2nd degree. The fourth suspect, who is a juvenile, was released to his parents; his charges are being referred.
