Everett Police seek Publics Help

EVERETT, WA – Major Crimes detectives are investigating an apparent domestic incident that occurred at 2619 Baker Ave. in the early morning hours of Saturday, June 10, 2023. The incident resulted in a shooting, leaving a 31-year-old male, identified as Christopher A. Wilson, deceased. Detectives are asking members of the public to please come forward with any information that may help them locate the primary suspect, 29-year-old Shawntea Grimes Hamilton.

Dispatch received a call from a neighbor reporting that they heard shuffling and then “three pops.” Officers arrived on scene and when they did not find anything suspicious outside, they attempted contact with the apartment and received no response. The reporting party told officers their neighbor was moving out and they believed something may have fell. A few hours later, about half a block away from the original incident address, a victim reported their vehicle had been hit by a bullet sometime overnight. The responding officer then noticed there was another call from 2619 Baker Ave.; the original reporting party said they woke up and found, what appeared to be, a bullet hole in their home. Given the information gathered, officers entered the apartment to conduct a check on the welfare of those inside and found Wilson deceased with apparent gunshot wounds.

Major Crimes detectives are still investigating the incident, but a suspect has been identified and they are asking for the public’s help to locate her. The suspect has been identified as 29-year-old Shawntea Grimes Hamilton. Hamilton’s description is as follows: Black female, 5’4”, 150 pounds, black hair and brown eyes. Hamilton was seen fleeing the scene in a blue-gray Chevrolet Cobalt with Michigan plate DDX0262. The vehicle had no front plate and the driver’s side headlight appeared to be out. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Everett Police Department TIP LINE at (425) 257-8450 or Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound at 1-800-222-TIPS.
